Alexandra Kovenat, AIA

Founder & Principal

After working for premier firms such as Pelli Clarke & Partners, SOM and Gluck+ in New York City, Alex founded Chroma Architecture in 2016 to focus on her passion of bringing high quality design and construction delivery in a boutique practice. Alex is dedicated to each of her clients and creates designs that exceed their expectations. She believes that sustainable design practices such as adaptive reuse and energy efficient renovations are essential components of smart development.

In addition to leading Chroma Architecture, Alex serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of the Westchester + Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. She is honored to serve as its President-Elect for 2024, representing more than 700 members.

Alex holds a Master of Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in the City of New York and a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin. Alex is licensed to practice Architecture in New York State and is accredited by the US Green Building Council as a LEED AP with a focus on building design and construction.
